What you should know…
Are you wondering what will be left to select from when the “leftovers” are announced in July? Don’t get thrown off by the application deadlines and risk missing out on a great season!
First application deadlines are typically in April. For those that made that deadline you’ll have either drawn your license and received it in the mail, or if you weren’t successful, received a letter of the “leftover licenses” after the draw. At which point you can re-apply from the list as a second chance to draw for a license before the next “leftovers” are published by the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Department.
For more information on this visit, contact us today!
Just remember - if you didn’t apply before April, the chart below will gives you a guide as to what will be available when this second draw is completed. Any animal, season, or GMU that you don’t see on this list will not be available. The ones you do see have a chance of being available if they are not drawn out by the unsuccessful 2nd draw applicants.
Don’t forget if you want deer and don’t see them on the list, it’s possible to get an Eastern Plains Whitetail Buck or doe. Colorado is currently putting pressure on these breeds to control the population explosion as much as possible. I have limited vouchers for deer, elk and antelope so get yours today!
If you don’t see your license here than it is an early warning to look for other options, your second best hunt, or broaden your horizons to another state.

Where to look for your favorite game hunting…

Wyoming, If mule deer are your desire, this state offers great drawing opportunities. If you want low-cost trophy deer options, there’ll be leftovers available as I have some that will provide you with a 160 to 205 lb buck. I can typically get licenses in the “leftovers” for Wyoming but please note, they will be available on a first come, first serve basis. To learn more about Wyoming packages, roll forwarwart to the 2000 years and the hunter migration from Utah and Montana has continued to see a 10+ increase in license applicants every year for the last 5 years. To get a license now in the Cowboy state you must be savvy in the way of the quickly growing imbalance of hunters moving south and the lack of the ability to increase the Wyoming, Deer, Elk and Antelope license to meet that increase of hunter. I do have some high success private land DIY to Guided options but they always fill up long before the hunter requests begin to stop for the year. If you are not applying in January, and miss that date they the only licenses that are left are Cow elk hunt, which ar great and a good success, but not what every horn hunter wants. contact us!
Nebraska is known as a low-cost license alternative with a buck license putting you back only $225. If you want a mule deer license you’ll need to apply as soon as possible.
Nebraska has joined the ranks of western states that have applications and preference points. For the most part, these mainly apply to Mule Deer. The hunts we have are in the best unit in the state, SW Nebraska known for it large Mule Deer and Whitetail. Mule Deer requirer points but you can buy points in Nebraska, like other states, but Watchdog® , can build you a profile and put a point in for you, while getting you a Whitetail License at the same time like magic, while you are out hunting Nebraska or other states.

LAST YEARS LANDOWNERS VOUCHERS
Kansas is similar to Nebraska with its whitetail encroachment. All Mule deer are huntable with muzzleloader or archery only. There are leftover whitetails but they are priced around $400. If you’re lucky enough to draw a Kansas Mule deer license it will cost you an extra $100 over the whitetail license. I have some good buys on Kansas hunts at $1,895 – you’ll just need a license.
Montana With the great movement from Idaho and Montana, the other prime Elk and Mule Deer states are getting slammed with new Applications from hunters migration out of the wold disaster in these two states, to higher population of game animals and no risk of being tod 5 days before the season started that thy could come, but could not purchase a license to hunt!
Why are hunters stopping there annual treks to Montana and Idaho at record number every year?
Montana has a boatload of Mule deer licenses but as a non-resident that will set you back around $600. Montana, along with Idaho are now known as the World Encroachment states. Good for tree hunters and wolf lover but not hunters, It is easy to see why the Idaho and Montana Deer and Elk Hunters are quickly migrating away from those states to Wyoming and Colorado. Ad to this them being expedited every year for the last 3 years by Idaho, having seasons, and promising to have licenses just to announce days before the opening day that they will not sell any more licenses each year, TO Non-Residents. At that time the non-resident hunts are 100% paid for, rental car, plane tickets, just to lose it all. The state advises that they has a clause that if THEIR wolf encroachment lowers the deer and elk population lower than the estimated amount.
Whoa! I work to hard for my daily bread to get rolled up in their problem situation. In the past they had good hunting, and I endorsed them. But for me to risk my income on their problem, it would be an act of stupidity. The last 3 year history if known by any hunter would be a great determining factor to do their hunting elsewhere, in Wyoming and Colorado for instance.
I feel bad for the people of the state, and I can feel bad for the politicians of the state, but the bottom line is it is a extreme problem that THEY must stand on their own 2 feet and fix it. No excuses, that it is the FEDS this requires results, not "I Can'ts" and it wont take a management or an irritation of their wolves, it will take a return of their deer and elk population, and a success rate by local Idaho hunters above 3%. Documented results, not promises are the only thing acceptable. I can't justify in donating 5 Grans to a state that can't manage their own Deer and Elk herds, but sit by while they are being taken to a non-recoverable level because of their lack of skill to get control of the Wolves and the Feds !
I want my Hunters to be successful, not pay $3000-$5000 for a camping trip without a shot!
So now you understand the reason for the hunter migration from Idaho and Montana. To be completely honest, I Wyoming continues as they are in the Yellowstone Basin, they will be next. Currently it is confined to that NW Corner of the state, and Wyoming Hunters, Outfitters and Landowners are fighting the Yellowstone Basin Walt Disney Mental Giants, that grew up thinking that Bambi can live well, right along the sides of Wolves, and Grizzly Bears. If that were true, then why has the Yellowstone National Park, and SE Idaho deer herds have dwindled down from 80,000 to 40,000 during the last couple of years that Wolves and Grizzly Bears have been protected, and feeding well, and quickly overpopulating the area with these various predators, dining almost exclusively on Venison.
The state Game and Fish agencies are responsible by law, " to manage the state's wildlife resources," plain and simple. Going their allow them the income to protect their jobs, and their income while skirting their responsibilities, it is that simple. You buy a licence by law, to hunt, they get your money and you must die, to ever get a chance at getting your money back, not like in Walmart, where a return is guaranteed if the product is defected or a replacement is out of stock.
Why pay for a service that does not do a good job, but buys new trucks, and provides all types of activities for the bird watchers and Hikers having the hunters and fishermen pay all the bills. If they can't do a good job, I feel don't pay them, like you would any other service you pay for.
These two states have Deer and Elk , OUT OF STOCK, and you can't even get a "Rain Check." The money for the licenses is just the beginning for the hunters, add flight, motels, transportation and on and on. Then when you get to your favorite honey hole there are more wolf tracks then elk or deer track the truth hits home. The only way to get on top of this issue and increase your hunting success, is to do what the historical hunters in those states are doing, moving to Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, and New Mexico. Arizona and Nevada are in my mind option as a plan B because of the 15-20 points required to draw for deer and elk, I don't recommend it as a Plan A unless you want to hunt High Fence elk. It is cheaper and much, much more successful.
In Idaho or Montana, look at a 680 bull elk license a guided hunt at $5000, Meal and Lodging, travel, and Miscellaneous, rounding the corner at another $2000 out of your pocket, the only thing that you save on is the meat processing, because you don't have any meat to process. Your out of pocket cost, not including gear, guns, ammunition, and practice during the year to be able to use it all efficiently and keep your shooting skills is at the ballpark at $7500 for you Idaho, Montana Hunt. 6x6 Bull elk in a high Fence, guided, with Meals and Lodging start about $5000, and you go home with a great rack for the wall and good meat for your Freezer.
You flip a coin and do what YOU think is best, it is your life and your money, and your future. For me a Bull Elk hunt with a high success rate and a Semi-Guided hunt on private property for a discounted rate of only $ 2495 is where you will find me every year, "Bringing home the bacon. It is well know, and simple, I care about my hunters, and hate to see them taken in by the Idaho/Montana White Collar Scam." I want my hunters to take horns and meat every time. I have shot over 60 elk, and 3 times that many deer, I know how to find them, and that is what I offer in Non-Idaho and non-Montana, in areas with high success. Start with Colorado having 4 time as many elk as Montana and Idaho combined. Archery, 2nde Rifle and 3rd season Rifle elk license over the counter and unlimited. The other 5 western Elk and Mule Deer States. Good planning is to have your foot in more than 1 state bucket every year, I won't say any more that tath but the bottom line is this.
We are the only ones with a Hunt GUARANTEE! With Watchdog® we Guarantee that you can hunt the West for Mule Deer, Elk, Antelope, Whitetail, and even Moose, every year on PRIVATE LAND at discounted Prices for the rest of your life and have licenses available to make this dream come true. If you want a whitetail hunt the “$1395 Semi-Guided private farm land hunt” in Missouri with a rifle is a good way to go with over the counter licenses. This option is also available in Iowa and a “gun” license can be drawn with 0-1 points. The archery season is also a draw and it takes place during the rut when the monsters you read about are out.
If you’re after a lot of deer for a little money, the Texas License is the best buy. The $312 fee will cover you for 2-3 whitetail bucks. The balance of 5 are whitetail does, with a mule-deer buck option. It also allows you to shoot all the hogs and exotics you can, along with does, quail and other fowl and Waterfowl. Also included are various predators like bobcats and mountain lions that are so restricted in many of the northern states.
How do I beat this increase number of hunter license applications, that come with lower license drawing odds in the license lottery systems across the west.
Now in walks Watchdog, after operating behind the scenes for 20 years, the miracle has been released to the hunter that want the ability ot have licenses available to hunt PRIVATE LAND DIY or Guided and be able to have their needed license mailed to their front doo for the hunt. In the West, and in the past this was never an option for the savvy hunter, because of the complex requirement, dates, drawing rules, drawing laws, that could not only prevent you from drawing as license but also put you square on the states game and fish department cross hairs to pay a Game and fish fine and you never left your living room!
Now that is a thing of the past. Welcome Watchdog!
